How Much Does a Car Wrap Cost in Toronto? Full GTA Pricing Guide

What Affects the Price of a Car Wrap?

How Much Does a Car Wrap Cost in GTA? (2025 Guide)

If you’re thinking about wrapping your car in Toronto, here’s the real, honest pricing you can expect. The truth is, wrap prices vary based on the vehicle, film, installers' qualification and coverage — but GTA prices follow a clear pattern.

Below is a breakdown based on actual shop data across Toronto, the GTA and Ontario, plus what we see daily at Custom Wraps.

Quick Answer: Car Wrap Cost in GTA

A full colour change wrap in Greater Toronto Area usually costs:

  • $2,400–$4,000+HST for smaller cars
  • $3,000–$4,500+HST for sedans and crossovers
  • $3,800–$6,500+HST for larger SUVs, trucks and luxury/performance cars
  • $5,000–$8,000+HST for specialty films (chrome, brushed, colour-flip)

At Custom Wraps Toronto, most full colour change jobs land in the mid-$2,000s to low-$4,000s, depending on size and film. There are some exceptions of course. For example Tesla wraps are usually cheaper (Cyber truck would cost around 2300$). Other cars would be more expensive than the other because they are super complex - Jeep Wrangler, Mercedes G-class.

Sounds expensive. I found a cheaper wrap price on marketplace!

We hear quite often from a client that there are shops offering $1,200–$2,000 “full wraps”.Unfortunately the GTA market has been contaminated by unregistered, untrained DYI guys who try to do wraps in their garages and driveways. Nothing good will ever come from this.

They are usually using:

  • cheap AliExpress film that doesn't last
  • almost no prep
  • no disassembly
  • poor installation
  • zero post-heating
  • cut paint all over your car causing rust
  • no warranty

Those wraps typically last 2–12 months before peeling, bubbling or fading. The worst thing again is they will guaranteed cause untold damage to your car.

What is our price strategy?

At Custom Wraps we've been wrapping cars since 2011. Over this time we learned very well, that car wrapping business is not scalable. You either do a lot of cars poorly or few cars with great quality. We specialize in Tesla wraps, Luxury Cars Wraps, commercial wraps and PPF installation. These services are aimed at an average to higher price segment of the market. So definitely "cheap" is not something that we do.

We also don't work with a bunch of vehicles like older cars, motorcycles, white cars etc.

What makes a car wrap expensive?

Wraps are not cheap due to a number of factors:

  • Expensive brand materials
  • Lease, utilities and other shop expenses are very high in the GTA
  • Qualified installers are hard to find and they cost a lot.
  • Advertising expenses can be up to 10% of the cost of a wrap.

Can't disclose all the numbers but you should know that if somebody is offering you a 2000$ wrap, he is being paid less than a minimum salary in Ontario. This is a business, not a hobby.

Small car wrap cost

SUV wrap cost

(4-door medium or full size SUV. Gloss, matte or Satin vinyl any colour)

from 3200$+tax

Why do wrap prices vary?

1. Vehicle Size & Shape

A Model 3 wrap is not the same as a G-Wagon or Range Rover.
More body lines = more hours.

2. Film Type

Gloss, satin, matte → normal pricing
Colour-flip, textured, brushed →+20–40%
Chrome →+50–100%

3. Prep & Disassembly

High-quality shops remove:

  • mirrors
  • trims
  • door handles
  • emblems

This improves finish and longevity but adds hours.

4. Coverage

  • Full wrap (entire car)
  • Partial wrap (hood, roof, accents)
  • Interior door jambs (adds 10–20 hours)

5. Installation Quality

Wraps installed without:

  • post-heating
  • edge sealing
  • panel alignment
  • full cleaning

…will lift, curl, peel and stain.

Quality shops charge more because they do it properly.

  • Can I buy my own wrap and you just do the installation to save money?

Absolutely not. So many people were burnt on this! Almost any vinyl that you can buy online is thick cheap Chinese garbage that can't be used for anything other than flat walls. We use only vinyl made in North America - 3M 2080 and Avery SWF.

Your car is the second most expensive purchase after the house. Don't risk trying to save a few hundred dollars at a shady shop!

Is Wrapping Cheaper Than Painting?

A quality repaint costs:

  • $5,000–$10,000+ for proper prep
  • $10,000–$20,000 for premium jobs (Mercedes/BMW paint systems)
  • One damaged panel(door, fender) on Audi, Tesla or other high end car costs aroun 5000$ to replace and repaint.

A wrap:

  • $3,000–$5,000
  • Protects original paint
  • Reversible
  • Shorter turnaround
  • More colour options
  • Helps resale value
  • One panel costs around 500$ to re-wrap if scrathed or damaged. Done in an hour or two vs. weeks for repainting.

Most people wrap instead of repainting unless they’re restoring a classic.

Is coloured PPF more expensive than a vinyl wrap?

Coloured PPF is relatively new and very much hyped at the moment. The idea of combining a colour change with all the benifits of paint protection film is amazing in theory.

On practice 3M PPF roll costs x3 the price of a 3M 2080 roll making it by far the most expensive material we use.

Cost a full vinyl colour change wrap can be around 3000$. Same car done in coloured PPF will cost twice that amount - at least 6000$. It won't look better than the vinyl wrap but will provide better protection and will last twice longer than vinyl.
